Great Basin is located in the state of Nevada near the small town of Baker, at the Utah state line. This park has good dark skies for night time photography during the new moon phase. Entering the park from the west side entrance, the Wheeler Park Scenic Drive travels uphill about 15 miles through the park meandering uphill to the Wheeler Peak parking area. Most hiking trails start in or around this area.Lehman Caves is located at the bottom of the hill at the Lehman Caves Visitor Center, before ascending uphill. Reservations are recommended for a tour of the caves.
