WHITE SANDS NATIONAL PARK
White Sands National Monument is located in the southern part of the state of New Mexico, next to the city of Alamogordo. The White Sands area itself is 275 square miles of Gypsum Sand. This type of sand is firmer and cooler than other types of sand. As a result of this, it is easier to walk on and many people (including moms, dads, and kids) enjoy sledding on these dunes. From the visitors center entrance gate to the farthest part of the park is an eight mile drive. There are several picnic area locations toward the north end of the park where you can park your car next to your picnic site. Each site has a table, a grill and a large overhead covering to protect you from the rays of a hot summertime sun. While you are preparing dinner, the kids can play in the sand or on one of the many sand dunes and have a good ole’ time. If you are in the southwest area of the U.S., it is a worthwhile trip to pay the park a visit and spend the day.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
